About

Hi, I’m Dave.

After several years working as a systems engineer in the telecommunications industry, I moved with my family to a different country, a different continent, and accidentally fell into a different industry – software development and solution architecture.

After working in agencies for a few years, I realized a few things based on my previous experience that I decided need to be resolved:

1. The people responsible for choosing an agency or consultant to help them evolve their digital presence are very often not experienced at buying software, selecting agencies, managing such a large project, or even knowing what to ask for.

I help marketing teams to understand where they are in terms of their digital presence, where they want to be, and how to get there.

2. Despite what many agencies might tell you, they are there to extract as much revenue as possible, rather than being a trusted partner that acts in your best interests, such as providing advice even when it may hurt their bottom line.

You need someone to advocate for you, ensuring you’re not sold a “bill of goods” that ends up costing double what you expected, or with half the features and functionality you expected. Someone to ensure you get a solution that enables your team, and a roadmap that will evolve and grow as your needs change.

3. Many digital platforms and services are not built or delivered with a system mindset. Integration is often an afterthought, and features often overlap.

My approach is to incorporate systems thinking to ensure your marketing tech works together with other systems in your organization, and provides seamless experiences for your users and team.

I’ve got your back.

My goal with this website is to share relevant insights, tools, thoughts, and news that will enable you to be savvy when it comes to dealing with marketing tech, as well as vendors and agencies.
